“The Mixers”. Founded by Charleston drummer Mike McSwain in 1994, has become a very successful and popular band for wedding receptions and corporate events throughout the Southeast. Success of the band at wedding receptions is documented in hundreds of letters from satisfied brides and parents of brides. “I think the biggest reason brides and their parents are happy with us is that we create elegance in the beginning of the reception [the band relies on jazz standards at the outset], but we’re able to shift gears when the time is right and create a party and dance atmosphere [beach, blues, rock-n-roll]. Practically every wedding receptions we play begins very elegantly, but winds up being a hell of a party!” says Mike McSwain.

The band’s corporate success is evident in the list of corporate clients who call when they need music for their group. McSwain contributes his success with corporate clients to “a strong sensitivity” to client’s needs and ability to be extremely flexible.
